The Environmental Markets Association (EMA) and
New Energy Finance Join Carbon TradeEx America 2010

Chicago / London / Washington, DC / Cologne

Koelnmesse Inc. and the Carbon Markets & Investors Association today announced their cooperation with the Environmental Markets Association (EMA) as a co-conference organizer staging Carbon TradeEx America 2010, the leading U.S. industry event for the emerging Carbon Industry. This joint effort will provide the complete environmental markets industry with a single platform specifically designed to deliver education, networking, business development and market opportunities.

The three parties have set the date for the 3rd edition of this 2-day Trade Show and Conference for September 28-29, 2010 at the Lakeside Center, McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. One day before and following this event, EMA will hold a “workshop program” which is scheduled for September 27th and September 30th at the same location. New Energy Finance will be the official content partner of the event.

Said Lauren LeMunyan, Executive Director of EMA: “The Environmental Markets Association (EMA) is excited to announce its participation in Carbon TradeEx as a co-conference organizer for 2010. As the leading U.S.-based environmental trade association focused on promoting market-based solutions, EMA plans to represent the expertise of transactional U.S. environmental markets and collaborate with the Carbon Markets and Investors Association and Koelnmesse to create the most comprehensive conference and trade show in America.”

Added Mette Petersen, President of Koelnmesse, Inc. ”The partnership with EMA will provide us with a more comprehensive platform allowing us to address all environmental markets including SO2, NOx and GHG gases. The location of Chicago has many upsides. It is already the hub of commodity trading and host to voluntary markets such as EUREX, CME and CCX. Chicago’s business community has a particularly strong interest in the low carbon topics, but we also expect to draw many attendees from all 50 states as well as Europe, Asia and Latin America based on Chicago’s central location and excellent infrastructure.”

Abyd Karmali, President of CMIA and global head of carbon markets at Bank of America Merrill Lynch said “Our inaugural Carbon TradeEx America event in 2009 demonstrated the appetite in the U.S. market for a high-quality conference and trade show focused on the significant economic opportunities presented by the low-carbon economy. CMIA is very pleased to be expanding its set of partners for our event in 2010 to ensure we are able to organize an event that is market-leading in design and content.”

Carbon TradeEx America is also excited to announce New Energy Finance as the content partner supporting the quality educational design of the conference. Milo Sjardin, Director of U.S. Carbon Markets at New Energy Finance said: “As a leading provider of in-depth research and analysis into the world’s carbon markets we are excited to be the content partner for Carbon TradeEx America 2010. Through expert speakers and insightful sessions the conference will be a must for every organization looking to play a role in the American carbon market.”

Conference Topics will cover Agriculture, Cleantech, Sustainable Energy, Market Structure, Legislation and Regulation, Corporate Social Responsibility, Voluntary Markets, Forestry, Offset Projects, Compliance as well as the Political Framework in the domestic and international context.
