Session: Carbon trading and market oversight.
Jason Patrick is a Vice President in the Carbon Markets group within the Global Commodities business at
Bank of America Merrill Lynch, based in New York. In this role he is responsible for the company’s carbon
markets business in the Americas.
Patrick's primary responsibilities include the origination, structuring and commercialization of principal
carbon products. He is focused on transactions in pre-compliance markets in North America, traded credits
under the Kyoto Protocol and those in emerging markets, such as forest carbon credits.
Patrick also works closely with many other groups within the bank where carbon is material to the business.
In addition, Patrick leads the development of the bank’s participation in Renewable Energy Credit (REC)
markets.
Patrick has been active in environmental markets for more than 10 years. Before joining the company, he
was a Vice President in the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Markets Group at Evolution Markets Inc. There he
was responsible for facilitating transactions in global greenhouse gas credits. Prior to that, Patrick worked
in market analysis and implementation for the Environmental Defense Fund in New York.
Jason holds an M.A. in Financial Economics from New York University, an M.E.M. from Yale University
and a B.S. in Natural Science from the University of California at Berkeley. |
