Mr. Nelson is currently the Senior Vice President responsible for Renewable Energy Credit Trading at Element Markets, LLC. He brings a uniquely broad perspective to the REC market, having actively traded the deregulated North American gas and power markets since 1989. He has been involved with RECs since 2005, starting as a compliance buyer as part of his role running portfolio management at Sempra Energy Solutions. He has commodity trading experience in every region across North America including Canada and Mexico and, in addition to energy and RECs, has traded ERCs, emissions and GHG credits. Mr. Nelson holds an MBA from the University of Houston and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
